Black tie, lakeside, wildly elegant, and wrapped in so much genuine love that I was emotional before the first look even happened. As an Idaho wedding photographer, days like this one are the reason I do what I do.
The Coeur d’Alene Resort sat right behind Brittany and Chad like it was put there just for this day. Lake Coeur d’Alene glittering in the background. Boat docks. Mountains. And one very important golden doodle in a bow tie who honestly stole the whole show and I have zero regrets about it!!

The Getting Ready Moments at This Coeur d’Alene Resort Wedding: Whiskey, Flasks, and the Best Dog on the Planet
The guys started their morning exactly right. Matching flasks, a bottle of Macallan 12, bow ties, and the kind of easy laughter that tells you everything about a groom and his people. Getting ready photos with a groomsmen crew this fun are genuinely some of my favorites to shoot and this group delivered!!
And then there was the dog. A big fluffy golden doodle in a bow tie who absolutely knew he was the most important member of the wedding party. He rode the boat down the dock with the groomsmen. He posed on the balcony overlooking the lake. He was on a hot pink leash and completely owned every single second of it. I am not exaggerating when I say some of my favorite images from this entire day involve him. He was perfect and I love him!!
On the Brittany’s side, the makeup spread alone told me everything I needed to know about how seriously this day was taken. Patrick Ta, Charlotte Tilbury, Tom Ford. Every detail thoughtful and intentional from the very first moment of the morning. She even designed her own invite suites!!! So stunning!!!!
The First Look That Completely Wrecked Me
I have photographed a lot of first looks. I love every single one of them. But there are a few that I will carry with me forever and this was one of them.
Chad turned around and saw Brittany for the first time and just completely fell apart in the most beautiful way. Not only that, he literally CARTWHEELED with excitement! Like actually full on did a cartwheel. It was amazing and definitely a first!! Lake Coeur d’Alene right behind them. Her wildflower bouquet full of coral, peach, blue and white blooms cascading down. His black tuxedo. Her stunning strapless ballgown with the most incredible cathedral length veil.
It was one of those moments where you just hold your breath and let it happen. I am so grateful I was there to capture it!!
The Details: Colorful, Lush, and So Perfectly Them
The reception details at a Coeur d’Alene Resort wedding can be as elevated as you want them to be and this couple went all in. The tablescapes were gorgeous. Neutral linen with deep green velvet runners, crystal glassware, gold flatware, and the most incredible wildflower centerpieces in white ceramic vessels. Coral garden roses, blue delphinium, peach carnations, cosmos, chamomile. So colorful and lush and alive against the soft neutral backdrop.
The scalloped table numbers with green satin ribbon bows were such a perfect little detail. The kind of thing that ties the whole look together and makes every photo feel cohesive and intentional. Every single corner of that room was beautiful.
